Extracurriculars at CRHS

  • Basketball: This extracurricular is offered to both middle and high school students. The High School season goes from November to March and the Middle school season is in the spring. Expenses include game and practice balls, equipment, tournament registration, and officiating fees.

  • Choir: The CRHS choir is open to all students. We rehearse once per week. We are planning performances for Remembrance Day, Christmas, the Spring Variety Show, and we hope to take part in District Night of the Arts again this year. Our expenses include sheet music, t-shirts, and sometimes registration fees for special events.

  • Cross Country: This extracurricular is offered to both middle and high school students. The season start in September and finishes in October. Cross Country is one of our cheapest extra curricular activities as jerseys are typically the only expense for middle school students, with the add on of registration fees for high school students.

  • Musical: CRHS will be presenting a musical version of Cinderella this spring! All students are welcome to audition for a role, or to join the tech crew (lights, sound, props, costumes, makeup, sets, etc.). Expenses include scripts, mp3 tracks, audio equipment rentals, and materials for sets, props, and costumes. We are looking for donations of money, materials, and time.

  • Soccer: This extracurricular is offered to both middle and high school students. The season starts in September and finishes in October. Expenses include game and practice balls, equipment, and officiating fees.

  • Track and Field: This extracurricular is offered to both middle and high school students. Track and Field is held in the spring and typically consists of a few weekend meets. Common expenses for Track and Field are training equipment and registration fees.

  • Volleyball: This extracurricular is offered to both middle and high school students. The High School season starts late winter and continues into spring, with teams travelling to tournaments on a few weekends. The Middle school season is a shorter season that is held throughout the winter months. Expenses include game and practice balls, equipment, tournament registration, and officiating fees.

Extracurriculars in the Community

Dance: Pointe Taken Dance is proudly located at the William Henry Steeves House in Hillsborough, NB, and run by owner and director Emma Llewellyn. Pointe Taken Dance is where movement meets community, and every step tells a story. The studio offers recreational dance classes as well as a competitive team that will travel across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario this season. Classes include Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Acro for students of all ages. Students aged seven and up are required to wear class-appropriate black attire (with pink tights for ballet), including ballet shoes, jazz shoes, shorts, and tights—no logos. Students under age 7 wear all pink. Boys of all ages wear a white or black t-shirt and black pants. For more information or to register, contact Emma Llewellyn at emma@pointetaken.ca.
